Literature Text

While reading your name on a stained postcard
I remember our days and nights spent alone
I take out your picture and place it near me
And bring your poems and letters by the fire

I let your sweet voice whisper to me again
Even if it's just a sound made by imagination
Through the thin air I can see you once more
In dreams you are a reality I cannot grasp

You took me and swallowed my emotions
Blood was a wine you liked to have every now and then
In one breath I could give you my soul, leaving me
Unconscious, bleeding, drunk, enamoured, dellusional

You tell me this love is forbidden
And every moment must be kept a secret
Each kiss, soft and tender, is a clandestine gift
One that I wish to hide under my skin

I kept a promise no one knows about
To deny all what is admitted by you
It cost me my happiness and a few pennies
One makes crazy decisions for love

Yet one day you decide to forget me
Swearing we've never met before
Amnesia becomes your way of life
You don't cope anymore, you forget

We loved each other once, in a twisted way
I keep your letters as proof of that
A love that faded with time and memory
Shadows of a wild past, a possible present
An unreachable future.
Why not take out the topic of loves that only existed in dreams and my mind tricked me, making me believe it really happened?
Wrote it after an Inception-like dream I had.
